HUNGARIAN DESIGN AWARD 2017
Following a tradition, an award ceremony will be held also this year to present the best of last year in the Hungarian design scene. The grant that has represented the most prestigious recognition in the profession for almost 40 years, along with the annual award announced by the Minister of National Economy, primarily aims to call market actors’ attention to the competitive potential offered by the creative industry, and to present the outstanding achievements of national innovation to a broader audience. As the notion of design keeps changing and is gathers complexity, the event offers a comprehensive overview of the trends representing the present and projecting the future of the design scene. Similarly to the previous years, the panel awarded products that represent a high added design value, are innovative, competitive, and meet international expectations, in addition to becoming an indispensable part of our everyday environment.
DESIGN MANAGEMENT AWARD 2017
The strategic application of design today is proved to increase competitiveness and is regarded by market actors as a profitable investment. The Hungarian Design Council founded the Design Management Award as a means to recognise the organisations that set an example by using the inventory of design and design-minded thinking, which has become an integral part of their operations also at the level of decision-making processes. This recognition may motivate organisations and institutions by showcasing good practices, while offering an exciting glimpse into the secrets of corporate success to those interested. In addition to the four awarded companies, four other organisations that have received certificates of recognition are also presented at the exhibition.

At the Booms Design fashion show, the brand presents its unique clothes and accessories – all of them decorated with embroidery and other techniques. At the event, followed by a party, everyone will find a piece that fits her or his style.

Ergonomic design and environmentally conscious approach are in focus of the exhibition and fashion show by the students of Industrial Product Design Engineering at Óbuda University. Function, form and technology are in the center of communicative beginnings. Two events, several topics and inspiring solutions!
The open innovation workshop FabLab Budapest is a library of manufacturing technologies, where you can find a woodshop next to 3D printers, CNC machines and laser cutters. During the week you can learn more about the services of the lab where AB concrete design and Fabatka brands will be introduced.

What is fashion illustration, fashion drawing, fashion graphics? Why do fashion designers prepare fashion illustrations? And how can they be exhibited?
Danish and Hungarian eco-design and alive-design fashion collections are to be shown, such as those of AMOV Apparel and the exclusive living plant costumes, accessories, jewellery created by the Eco-Design Team. With the contribution of the Embassy of Denmark a Danish environmental documentary enriches the event.
H6 is group of six young jewelry designers. Six different relationships with jewelry, six different ways of thinking. One of them re-imagines the concept of jewelry with light, dance and space. Some of them give new meaning to how jewelry is worn by finding alternative uses for materials. Some are able to demonstrate the echelons of society with one jewelry collection. Their works differ but their common goal is to tell a story with jewelry. Be part of their story!

Interesting structures and textures are shown in the collection based on modular elements created by the students of BKSzC Model Fashion School. Material and form make an integral unity, while the movement of its wearer induces the surface changes. Students’ works will be presented at an exhibition and a fashion show.

In the Open Handicraft Studio handicraft masters, embroiderers, pearl jewellery, applied felt, felt, lace and basket makers, leatherworkers run workshops and present their contemporary fashion collection in a show. A workshop demonstrates how can we use traditional techniques in the 21. century.
OST is a contemporary brand based on an eastern european approach of fashion. Established in 2016 by two young designers, OST represents a strange, distorted but realistic vision of fashion, that highlights the twisted nature of our instagram-perfected time. The OST studio is now open in the most diverse 8th district with an insight to the design process.
At the presentation of Sarolta Végh’s tattoed jewelry collection you are welcome to get tattoed – on your skin, or on your new jewelry. The graphics by co-artist István Kárpáthegyi will also appear on Temporary’s tatto stickers, too, also available on spot.
